The Vietnam war

The Vietnam war began in the year 1945 when the leader of the North-Vietnamese communist, Ho Chi Minh tried to negotiate with France about the realize of the colonized South-Vietnam. After 8 years with fighting, France had to leave the war and let the North attack South Vietnam.

USA feared that the communist would get a big influence in the East, and sent big troops into South Vietnam to keep the communist away.

Big parts of the war took place in the jungle. The way the war is performed is called geriljawar and was a big conquer for the Vietnamese because they known the jungle so well. Heat, extremely moisture, dangerous animals and North Vietnamese made big challenges for the Americans during the war. Although the USA was in majority the North Vietnam won many wars because of their skilled war performers. In 1973 the leader of North Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh suggested if USA leave the war the communist would stop hostility against the country. In January USA signed an agreement while the war against North and South Vietnam continued.
